- Spanglish as a pidgin?
This morning someone rather unusual said something to me along the lines of:
Hice tres footin(g)(s) pero se me rompió el tendón(g), entonces dos liftin(g)(s) y ya me ves la cara, y luego en el hospital me metieron un dopin(g) tremendo y ahora estoy en una relación con la farmacéutica y lo llamo la ley

A classic Spanglish error, this–they mean “right in the centre”–and 459K is distinctly optimistic.
- These wines are aimed at prescribers
Somewhere over the rainbow (p18 to be exact), there’s a country where the health system allows doctors to write prescriptions for alcoholic beverages, and where Torres can openly corrupt them with gifts of the same. Either that or Origin Spain is two redundancies in one: a web magazine, written in Spanglish.

The sender tells me this story about the Eurobarmeter (sic) has been improved since publication, but it’s still pretty crap. I think the linguistic establishment takes a quite complex view of the merits of learning a subsidiary dialect, in this case Spanglish, as an introduction to full Estuary or Hudson.
