I’m just curious: suppose the EU in its infinite wisdom were to agree to recognise any Spanish region voting 55% in favour of secession, would it also recognise the right of parts of that region to secede and rejoin the original state? Since the Bajo Llobregat contains Barcelona Airport and would be a prime candidate for an exercise of this type, the proposition is an interesting one.
