1807 starts as Sunday school teacher at this new Calvinistic Methodist chapel, one of the first teachers, together with Thomas Ffowc, Owen Edward and Ifan Tomos o'r Ceunant. His two most talented pupils are Thomas Jones, his son, who goes to Utica, and Robert Thomas aka Ap Vychan. Ap Vychan says that Simon Snr. was a Methodist, and Y Pandy was Methodist, i.e. Calvinistic Methodist. Simon Jnr was a Congregationalist.
