  • Tue Apr 01 18:36 V proud that the 5-yo (f) now cycles 5 days/week to school & back = 8 (sometimes scary) miles. But provision for cyclists & pedestrians outside central Leeds is abysmal & worsening because there's no consistent, serious will to tackle bad drivers
  • Tue Apr 01 18:39 Woman the other day: I'm having dogs, not kids. Her friend: Dogs cost you, but they ain't going to look after you. Woman: Bet they wouldn't. Tax?
  • Wed Apr 02 06:17 Did Leeds English prof & Yorkshire dialectologist F.W. Moorman really translate the rules of football into German?
  • Wed Apr 02 06:23 SW Tyrone speech was quite different, as were the people. Samples, including great stuff on pigs & slurry
  • Wed Apr 02 09:26 Found a large & heavy dew-laden glass bathroom cabinet on the way back from dropoff this AM. Made it 1/2-way to the allotment, thru rush-hour traffic ("Cold Frame Pile-up at Monk Bridge"). Cue Ali Electricals of Harrogate, just passing by: "Want a hand with that?" Reward: rhubarb
  • Wed Apr 02 09:33 Comment: @Transblawg "Sisyphus, get yourself a van!"
  • Sat Apr 05 11:51 "My son just bought a farm, & he's completely redoing the house with the 50K grant he got because two of the kids have asthma." Not sure the infant's fondness for the Simpsons would qualify.
  • Sun Apr 06 12:23 Very impressive long-tailed tit's nest outside the window - lichen, moss, feathers, held together by cobwebs
  • Sun Apr 06 19:37 A small friend approaches the infant with her new temporary tattoo, a unicorn. Ours, to my great surprise: "I don't like unicorns." Tears, but I've had enough of unicorns too.
  • Tue Apr 08 06:46 We're off to see these great puppeteers on Sunday in Kirkstall
  • Tue Apr 08 17:52 Party that has screwed up public transport (to say nothing of walking & cycling) in Leeds for 100 years telling you that now it's going to fix it
  • Sat Apr 12 09:19 Early Years should be legally obliged to accompany the "sharing is caring" nonsense (it depends!) with the other two slogans from Dave Eggers' Google/Facebook/Twitter dystopia, The Circle: "secrets are lies" and "privacy is theft"
  • Sat Apr 12 09:21 Comment: @DrBeachcombing @BobSkinn Ötzi's girlfriend found him soon after, but he was pretty ugly
  • Wed Apr 16 10:41 "Please don't sing lullabies, I'm trying to get to sleep."
  • Fri Apr 18 05:00 Peter Mitchell, via @Transblawg
  • Fri Apr 18 05:17 On this afternoon's Kulturkampf, caused by the unfortunate coincidence of a Good Friday service & a football match: There is a green hill far away Without Godiva's wall, Where our good Lord was crucified With Albion at one-all.
  • Fri Apr 18 05:24 Following the Supreme Court ruling, Ms G will presumably have to return to work next week as Mr G, leaving children with questions. The infant was so far gone with the travesty that she refused to believe that a pantomime dame was a man, because he said on stage that he wasn't.
  • Fri Apr 18 20:36 Intriguing detail of club premises conditions
  • Sat Apr 19 06:36 Dreams of the 2 most influential local politicians of the last 30 years. Nigel: Tell me who you're voting for & I'll tell you why you're wrong. Me: No elections here this year. Tony (same skin tone as Nigel): Do young people still hate me? Me: They don't know who you are.
  • Mon Apr 21 20:54 Infant v proud of having raced over from the bus stop to rescue one of Adel Coop's Starship delivery bots, marooned at the Holt Lane lights. Few pedestrians, & none wait for the lights. "It should have an unfolding arm inside that reaches out and presses the button."
  • Tue Apr 22 20:30 Yes but does Keir support the abolition of unicorns
  • Sat Apr 26 05:46 Man oh man
  • Sat Apr 26 13:14 RT @BBCLookNorth: Cut-outs of people to urge drivers to slow down
  • Sat Apr 26 13:16 Comment: @RichardHanania Part of the problem is that a lack of substance behind the headline - childcare & education are still crap
  • Sat Apr 26 21:05 I've thought of Padraic Colum as mere fodder for Flann O'Brien, but his Children of Odin makes great bedtime reading & a chilly balance to the infant's exposure to Iliad & Odyssey
  • Sun Apr 27 06:34 Autism & a retarded madman
  • Mon Apr 28 10:18 "He's my neighbour. We always knew he was weird." Popular annoyance that the police & CPS in general seem reluctant to deal with lonely loonies under the TA 2000.
  • Mon Apr 28 20:49 "piano-tuner"

Bizarrely, Twitter data downloads don't include others' comments on your tweets, or tweets on which you comment, e.g.:

/ I say something
// Someone replies
/// I reply to them
... and so it's impossible to show tweet trees involving third parties correctly.
