Narrative
Liverpool Daily Post and LAD credit Thomas ApSimon, though AMA attributes it to TTA. TTA in his letters uses "Pilckem" so perhaps the "Pilchem" shows that TA wrote it before his death in 1919.

- Emigration date from death notice. TTA suggests (A Welsh Story) that hunger may have been a cause. Thomas followed the author John Edwards, born 1806 at Llanuwchllyn, who emigrated to Utica aged 21 ("Notable Welshmen"). The poet John Davies/Ioan Idris (1821-90) came out in 1842. The 1840 US census lists 4 Thomas Jones as head of family at Utica, but funeral piece doesn't mention a family. - On death of father Thomas in 1812, the children go to live with John Jones, their paternal uncle and guardian, then farming at Rhyd Sarn, later at Pant-y-Ceubren. TTA incorrectly says the children go to Werglodd-ddu, Llanuwchllyn. [E0821]
