A son of Mr [Benjamin] Sandall’s, vicar of Coverley, was crushed to death under the church door on Lord’s day at night November 30, 1668, the door being lifted off the hinges by some ringers.
Samuel Margerison says there were two Ephraim Sandalls, “both of whom died young.” Benjamin Sandall was apparently from Idle and appointed by Charles II, and he died or was sacked in 1688 (Margerison 1880).
