A Yorkshire Almanac Comprising 365 Historical Extracts, Red-letter Days and Customs, and Astronomical and Meteorological Data

Doreen M. Wood. 2000. We Remember the “Alphabets”. Leeds.

Oral history of 21 streets, named Angel to Ventnor, built for industrial workers in the mid-19th century between Kirkstall Road, the railway, Burley Road and St. Andrew’s church, and demolished in the 1930s. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to date any of the excellent anecdotes for reuse. Get it: All sources.
