Oral history of 21 streets, named Angel to Ventnor, built for industrial workers in the mid-19th century between Kirkstall Road, the railway, Burley Road and St. Andrew’s church, and demolished in the 1930s. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to date any of the excellent anecdotes for reuse. Get it: All sources.

Leeds, York, West Riding of Yorkshire, Church of England, London, Sheffield, Horse, Bradford, poetry, Kingston upon Hull ... Leeds’s Singing Organ-Grinder has been compiling and coding Now! Then! The Yorkshire Almanac at bedtime to educate himself about his new home since moving from Hackney to Headingley in April 2021. It will soon be available in printed and e-book editions.
