In the parish of Felkirk; an eminence partly natural and partly artificial, and near a point at which meet the three wapentakes of Strafford, Staincross, and Osgodeross. Nevinson, the highwayman, is said to have much frequented this locality (Hunter, South Yorkshire, summarised in a fn to Hobson).
