The EU’s push eastwards is obviously distinct from Hitler’s, and Putin is no Stalin, but anyone looking for heroes may not want to look too closely, and the Catalan nationalist government which has chosen these days to announce that it sees in the Ukraine an example worthy of imitation is off its rocker.
